3 Reasons To Switch To Growth Driven Design

You may be wondering, what is GDD?

GDD stands for Growth Driven Design. Growth Driven Design is a process for the re-design of websites with the aim to take away the risks that come with traditional web design, shortening time of launch and providing continuous improvement to the site.

Here are 3 reasons why you should switch to Growth Driven Design (GDD).

1. Traditional Web Design - The pitfalls of traditional web design are starting to become more apparent to those with re-designed websites. Issues such as large upfront costs, time and resource commitment and no prototype websites allow for a lot of unpredictability for a business. It comes to a point where a business must ask itself, are these risks worth it and how can we reduce these risks?

2. Reduce the risk of failures - The GDD process includes small time frames of pre-planned work (known as ‘sprints’). Rather than traditional web design’s process of ‘trying to complete everything at once in an unrealistic time frame’- perhaps not the best idea for a business. This allows you to focus on what is important for that specific frame of time (usually 3 month long phases). These phases allow you to experience and acknowledge problems and then quickly resolve them, rather than getting to the end of the project before realising a potential, or currently, major problem.

3. Continuous Improvement - Constant evaluation and looking back at the project allows you to continually improve your website. For example, you have a long video on your homepage which engaged well with visitors for the first 6 months of your website being live. However, you now see through website statistics that the video is contributing to very small periods of time on the homepage before exiting. Something to reconsider in the next quarter, where you would be adding improvements to the site, allowing continuous and optimum results for your business.
